Our last day in Hong Kong can be summarized in about a paragraph. We spent all morning drifting in and out of sleep. We had breakfast at the same cafe. We toke the ferry home. When I got home I was in a bit of haze on what to do. The loss of direction persist up until now.

Quick Update!

I’m finally home from my three day trip with my family to Hong Kong. We did lots of shopping (mostly me), eating and walking around. We stayed in Causeway bay and all the big stores were in walking distance.

I’m a bit drained from the experience, so spent most of the day recupperating. Tomorrow is busy as well, and then afterwards I have to start studying and put a stop to some of my daily pleasures.

P.S world didnt end WOHOOO

Saturday and Sunday: A long posts

I begun Saturday with my regular morning ritual: laying in bed in a state of limbo using my iPod touch until I’m out of battery. I was about to own this player on Zookeeper Battles when it blacked out. Then I realized what time it was. I burst from the house to have ICT class.

After the class we had to rush to the Westin on the sub island Coloane to watch our friends dance crew perform for an event. Turned out we were an hour early and our rushed efforts where for nothing. We toke the opportunity to run the entire beach and get some beach bbq. I dropped my phone in the mud on the way, and now I can’t hear anyone when they call me -,-.

Thursday and Friday: A medium sized post

Today marks the end of my experiments on shorter more compact daily stories. I tried them Monday to Wednesday with varying results. Generally, I got more likes, which is good.

Days really seem to be flying away. My brother had been on a school trip this week allowing me to make full use of my speakers. He returns tomorrow.

I am having those days where you can do a lot, but you don’t feel like you accomplished anything. You still feel…unproductive, and empty.

My brother has finally returned from Lijiang! I missed him lots :). He comes in, and after a quick greeting he turns on his computer and plays some dubstep…

Today was more productive than yesterday by a huge margin. I did some math, read and generally felt like I was doing something useful.

School was very relaxed. I only think I had one period of light weight work. The rest of it was just an easing in. We watched game trailers all Chinese, played charades in English and played Dodge ball in P.E. A good start to a laid back weekend.

Mini Vacation: Day 2

If yesterday was the climax, then today was the slow slog back home (an enjoyable one though). We went to my dad’s old housing area known as Clifford. After lunch it was my mother’s and brother’s turn to buy things, with the day before pre-dominantly directed by me. My brother got a magazine, while my mother got some books and slippers. Westin: My Family’s Sunday Tradition

Ever since my mom got her Westin Membership a few years back it has been a tradition. Every few months we pick a Sunday (any Sunday will do) to kick back at the pool, eat at a buffet and sleep in over-cushioned bed. All the while spending time the family, which is ever decreasing.

I always thought that the Westin would be one of those quietly ignored hotels. The ones that lay a bit out-of-the-way of civilization. The ones the fancy rich families go to and the over-curious tourist. Continue reading

The Other Half of Day 46: Headphone Woes

Shortly after opening my new headphones I was noticing some oddities. The highs were really harsh and some times it sounded unclear. I kept trying to ignore it, but it soon became apparent that they weren’t living up to my expectations. As almost to reinforce this point, my dad came in to try my new headphones. In less than 30 seconds, he toke em off and said “I bought these because you wanted the, but there not as good as the other one’s I gave you.” He made me listen to music using his Cowon Mp3 using the beats and then my new Panasonic to show the difference. The difference was almost painful to hear (quite literally). Not only was the beats bass better and the highs actually clear, but the Panasonic failed to reproduce the clarity of a females voice inside sounding scrambled and sharp. While understanding the price difference, it was very disappointing. He told me “If your going to buy, at least buy something better, don’t downgrade.” It made me feel very bad indeed 😦 At least I learnt from my mistakes.

As if to add insult to injury, the internet started acting up. After one game of League of Legends, it started to crash in our second causing us to lose the match. Then when I switched to YouTube, it would completely disconnect from the internet (rather than the usual limited connectivity). I decided to play Bejeweled on mute and play some of my music. strangely the Panasonic started sounding not as bad as I used em more. Perhaps I should allow them to burn in, and I’ll get back to you on that.

We then had dinner with my mom’s mom. While I usually don’t enjoy going there the day decided to give me a break. There was lots of laughter, and a good assortment of dishes. It’s a shame that we don’t go more, seeing as we live a block away. It was good to have a good family gathering. My aunt gave me a cockroach house which I’ll explain later to handle our escalating arthropod problem.

After walking my mom half way to church I went home to set up my cockroach “house.” It works by luring them with some food, and as the enter my the house they get stuck on sticky paper. Knowing they are almost oblvious to there dead brethren it should be effective.

I also changed my theme to Piano Black. Is it easier to read, how do you like it?
