Charity Weekend

Saturday

Today my friends and I volunteered for some charity work. It was a found raiser where kids go out onto the streets and sell stickers in return for a small donation. As older kids, we where in charge of the small “squads” in an area.

I knew immediately that this was going to be a drag if I didn’t make it more interesting for myself. It was gonna be three hours in the same area and I had a cold. So I decided to treat it like a small war game. I was Captain Young, of the Terran Conglomerate, leader of squad 3. I was in charge of two outposts, a war zone (street) apart. The first outpost had Alpha and Bravo, while outpost two had Charlie, Delta and Echo. I walked around like an officer and constantly demanded progress reports. Continue reading

My Great Day out

Today I woke late at around 12. I was still in a haze from yesterday’s gaming marathon. I decided to stay in bed awhile longer listening to Mylo Xyloto again while reading some articles on Pulse (Man, I love pulse).

Shortly after lunch Joao and Joel called me to meet up them. Before I could go out though, they decided to barge into my place and proceeded to eat all my food.

We then proceeded to the Macau Car Expo 2012 held at the Venetian. My parents couldn’t go and had given me four tickets to use.

I didn’t think to bring my DSLR, but luckily I brought my compact. Here are some of my favorite cars from the show:

Mitsuoka Green Vintage Car

Green and Vintage, What more could you want?

Bugatto Veyron

My favorite car from the expo. A beautiful blue, love the metal the used and a kick ass spoiler that comes up when you break.

The Last post of Summer 2012 :'(

Well I did it. I successfully wrote about all 60 days of my summer holiday with only minor hiccups. Along the way I have gained 10 followers, received over 50 likes and collected a total of 282 views with 22 on the busiest. I have made 122 posts and have  914 tags. I’m quite happy how this random idea turned out. I will definitely do this next summer and hopefully continue to blog during the school year.

  • What I did this summer:
  • Went out more
  • Bought tons of new things
  • Played League of legends a ridiculous amount
  • Went to China for 4 days
  • Met a girl
  • Ate myself silly
  • Spent time with my cousins from America
  • Relax and let my brain deteriorate

Before summer started I had all these dreams of what I wanted to do. I was gonna read, create, dance, play games and improve myself. I did that somewhat, and to be realistic how was I suppose to cram so much into one summer? I’m glad how it turned out, and wouldn’t have it any other way :). Thank you to everyone who have read my blog and supported me including my friend Roberto who lives all the way in Germany but is the most supportive of them all. My friend Miguel and Lyka are now regular readers now which I really appreciate (tunks!). And last, but no means least is my friend Marilda. Not only does she read it sometimes she likes to talk to me about it in real life a lot to especially through Twitter Direct Message.

Thanks for reading and I hope you had a good summer!

I’m so embarrassed

Trip to Hing Ling China: Part 4 (Day 52)

My Trip To Hing Ling China: Part 4

Another false start to the morning. I had thought the morning call was a dream twice in a row now. I had breakfast as normal, albeit with a bit more enthusiasm with it being the last day. I’ve been having the same breakfast for 4 days in a row.

The rest at the time at the estate was spent in the chapel with bible study and preaching. My house, house 2 and house 5 were tied for house cup. Our prize was a small pile of lollipops. I.was.overjoyed.

Day 59: The Last Weekend of Summer

Today I went with the family to shop at the newly opened San Mui in my area. It feels really new and fresh but nothing special. Bought tons of snacks and drinks (including a Blue Girl that I’ll share with my dad later). Bring on the zombie apocalypse :D!

Finally finished most of the blog posts for my trip to China. That toke up the majority of my afternoon. Despite it being the last Saturday of summer no one is going out. Hopefully something will happen.

Turns out something did happen. After a few lazy hours at home I finally went out with Liam to get his uniform. On the way we bumped into Lyka and Miguel. Lyka had church, but on the way we had to pass through a famous tourist area known as Old Taipa. Miguel toke the liberty to snap some shots as we pretended to be tourist from Canada to get free samples.

It was kinda of weird being in church with them. Their church felt a lot more professional and holy than mine. There was also some difference in procedure, such as kneeling while you prayed. We also saw lots of our teachers there. Guess there coming back to Macau. We bumped into our teachers called Mr.Mike who had gone to Venezuela to visit his wife’s family. My friend Miguel later pointed out that while talking to her that I refered to one as my teachers as Ms.Camel rather then Ms.Cambel. He and Liam wouldn’t let it go.

Everyone split up and went home afterwards. I walked Miguel home but ended up having subway. I kinda felt like we were going out for the sake of it, it being the last day of summer and all. It’s sadly coming to a close.

Trip to Hing Ling China: Part 3 (Day 51)

My Trip To Hing Ling China: Part 3

The third day started poorly with us horrendously late for breakfast. The first time my father tried to wake us up I thought it was a dream! At least breakfast was improved today. They had brought in bread and coffee! Having grown up in America it was much easier for me to digest.

We then going on a tour on a river known us the “Plom.”

Our Boat and home for about 3 hours

Trip to Hing Ling China: Part 2 (Day 50)

My Trip To Hing Ling China: Part 2

The next day started early with a crappy breakfast that would be repeated for all four days of my stay. Some watery congee and assortment of weird dishes that I don’t like. I ended eating noodles and salted peanuts for breakfast.

We then had a quick bible study after breakfast. I was spared most of it due to a sudden and painful stomach. As I returned, I noticed no one in the breakfast hall. It was time for chapel.

Before Chapel though there was a really weird dance class being held by a woman named Wendy. It started out with some basic stretches but as soon as she started these amazingly gay moves all the men left the dance.

Trip to Hing Ling China: Part 1 (Day 49)

***Finally got around to writing these!***

My Trip To Hing Ling China: Part 1

I woke up early. It was 7:30. We had to get to the border asap or we would never cross it quickly. My mom works from home and had to stay up to finish some work. She only had one hour of sleep :(.

Our grandparents drove us to the border, along with a church friend named Annie who my mom was mentoring. Border security was tighter then before, with a mandatory check on all baggage and backpacks. It toke us nearly an hour to get past the border, and even longer for everyone to get across.

Everywhere you looked there was at least a hundred people

Day 56: The Second Leg of the last journey

After a long day out it was time to find a place to sleep (spontaneous sleepover ftw!). We decided to go to Tasha’s house but due to our poor decision making Liam and I ended up without taxi. It toke us half an hour to get a taxi, with our friends arriving and showering before we even got into a taxi. Liam and Bruno had a puking contest to pass the time. Eventually we got a taxi but not in the way you would expect. My friends Ivan and Cassidy where visiting a nearby friend’s house that was with us. Their taxi driver was closing up shop, but agreed to drive us to Macau. A God send.

Sleeping at Tasha’s was nice as always. I always feel a home there. Everyone got showered up (except John :P) than despite for being up for nearly twenty hours we watched some movies, first Quarantine 2: The Terminal. The boy is so stupid in that movie. Next was the last half of Shark Night. Really bad CGI and highly improbable story. More comedy then horror.

Afterwards we all just drifted of to sleep. I slept around 6 and was awoken at about 1 by Joao. He slept at Joao’s (taking on for the team since there was no room) (there are two Joao’s, I shall call one Joao C. from now on to prevent confusion) and called everyone in the house multiple times. I had 10 missed calls when I finally picked up.

I was so happy. I have no idea, but when I awoke I was just so happy. I was sleeping with my green hoddy that I had the foresight to bring and was just so light and happy like. Kinda like a happiness hangover.

We all were in a bit of a state of suspended animation. We just sat there making fun of Channel V stuff. We all ate some form of Cup Noodles and got dressed and left for lunch. Guess what we had? McDonald’s.

When I finally arrived home I was greeted by great news! Logitech, without a doubt (ok, maybe Corsair) is my favourite peripheral producer. They have a branch called Ultimate ear which just released their first headphones and a new boombox! They all look so appealing and must sound great! I want them despite buying new headphones recently. I’m such a materialist. Then I saw the trailer for the new season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It looks soo good! I’m such a nerd 😛

Off to work on the China Blogs now. Wish me luck!
