I know its been a long time since I’ve written on the blog, but I’ve decided to get back into it. Exams got in the way, and then i never really got back into it. Being on a hiatus for so long, i realized how much it made me accountable for my actions and helped me to accomplish and word out my opinions.
Today I am trying to develop some small habits using an app called Lift for Ipod
- Write Neater. This has been on my goals for almost forever, but now I’m finally giving up on my own way of holding the pen and going for the regular and effcient way. Hmmph
- Keep my back straighter; not much explanation needed for this one
- And lastly pay more attention during class, no daydreaming or fidgeting at the time. WORK
Today marks the end of my experiments on shorter more compact daily stories. I tried them Monday to Wednesday with varying results. Generally, I got more likes, which is good.
Days really seem to be flying away. My brother had been on a school trip this week allowing me to make full use of my speakers. He returns tomorrow.
I am having those days where you can do a lot, but you don’t feel like you accomplished anything. You still feel…unproductive, and empty.
My brother has finally returned from Lijiang! I missed him lots :). He comes in, and after a quick greeting he turns on his computer and plays some dubstep…
Today was more productive than yesterday by a huge margin. I did some math, read and generally felt like I was doing something useful.
School was very relaxed. I only think I had one period of light weight work. The rest of it was just an easing in. We watched game trailers all Chinese, played charades in English and played Dodge ball in P.E. A good start to a laid back weekend.
My friend Miguel came back from Hong Kong and got me Pendulum’s In Silico:
I’ve wanted an album from them for a few years now and it felt enthralling to hold it in my hands. Still haven’t finished listening to Cold Play’s Mylo Xyloto completely, but I’ll soon be moving on to Deadmau5’s 4×4=12. I also moved my dads old Bose radio into my room, making it that much more homely-er. Giving up on learning 50 Cent’s My buddy, I don’t think its my type of rap and I won’t force myself to learn it. Here it is if your interested:
Today after school my friend Miguel and I where forced to attend a Parent-Student Association (PSA for short) meeting. I spent a few hours in Taipa loitering until the time of the meeting, joining a student council meeting and eating at a sushi parlor.
The meeting was a bit longer then it had to be. Apparently it was the bi-yearly meeting we had arrived for. We had thought it was a short meeting about the Media contest we had joined over summer. They were boring procedures such as bank statements, small speeches and nominations. We finally got it all out-of-the-way and proceeded to the awards. We did not win anything, resulting in a largely wasted evening. The lucky winners got ipad minis. I want an ipad mini. Meh.
My week is losing a bit momentum with yesterday’s meeting and today’s sluggishness. The combination of increasing exhaustion, over burdening and my mom’s suddenly more attractive Ipad has deterred my best efforts to be effective. RALLY!
Today in for P.E we played a combination of Netball and football. For netball, you must pass to team mates to get it to the other side of the field. However, the moment the ball touches the floor, it becomes football! Netball goals where 5 points, while football goals worth 2 points.
I always feel a bit helpless in sports (not being as physically gifted as others) but still try to contribute to the team as both an annoying defender and a cheerleader. I loved screaming FOOTBALL every time the ball touched the ground. My team ended up winning despite me scoring a brilliant own goal. It was also because one of my friends kept forgetting that you have to pass the line while playing the netball portion, and threw the ball into the net 4 times.
After a good half an hour of that we moved onto capture the flag. I was able to sneak into the enemy flag area when no one was looking, but never managed to make it out with it.
In the afternoon I got invited by my computer teacher to hear a speaker about Quantum Computing. Didn’t even know that existed 0_0.
The evening was eaten up by AXN. It’s surprising how you can get sucked in. It was great to relax and watch House, The amazing race and Wipeout. Too bad it sidetracked everything else and killed my time…
To my horror, I realized I had broken the chain. I’ve been following a productivity technique called break the chain where you give yourself a tick for everyday you do a task (i.e reading and exercise). I had created a chain three months long, now broken by a single night.
